Songs of my Life

Published by alekgw under Uncategorized

Just as Kino had many songs in his life, I have many songs in my life. I have a Song of Happiness, a Song of ADD/Hyperness, and a song of Good Memories. My song of happiness isn’t that old, and many of you have probably heard it.

Beijing Huan Ying Ni is my song of happiness. I think the song is very beautiful, and makes me smile every time I hear it. It was the song of the Beijing Olympics. I think that the translated English lyrics are spectacular, and present peace really well. This song represents not only the Olympics but the world as well. Going from happiness my next is very random and it also makes me hyper.

The Gummy Bear Song is my song of hyperness. It’s by the Gummibar company in Germany. I like this song mainly because of the video. It has lots of energy, and it’s sort of funny. Many people think it’s stupid which it is, but I think it’s quite entertaining as well. It helps me to watch this video at the end of the day because it perks me up and helps me forget my stresses. My next song is also a song that brings me happiness but it’s mainly one of my favorites because of the memories.

Shake It by Metro Station. The video is questionable so I can’t put it on my blog. But you can look it up if you want to. Most people have already heard it. This song is meaningful to me because my friends introduced this song to me before it became popular. We would have group sing alongs and make fun of the British accents. This song reminds me off my friends, and joys of past memories.

Beijing Huan Ying Ni, The Gummbear Song, and Shake It all bring me joy when I hear them. As my song of friendship, hyperness, and good memories, they all mean something to me. I think everyone hears songs, and music helps people deal with the challenges and appreciate the joys in life.

Stories of My Life

Published by alekgw under Uncategorized

Chicka Chicka… BOOM! In my life several stories affected me.  The story’s that affected me most were Chicka Chicka Boom, Winnie The Pooh, and The Magic Treehouse series. I remember when I was younger I always wanted my mom with me. Every night she would have to read a story to me to get me to bed, or I would end up throwing tantrums.  I always wanted my mom to read Chicka Chicka Boom.  I would laugh so hard when my mom imitated the goofy monkeys.  She would depict the monkeys through silly noises, helpful props, and hilarious faces.  Most of the time when my mom was done, I would have an abundance of energy and plead for her to read it again.  I loved that book!  I eventually memorized it, and learned my alphabet from it, before I even went to school.  Monkeys were my favorite animal for a long time. Then I learned the story of a yellow bear.

Winnie the Pooh was the coolest!  Winnie the Pooh was my favorite book as a toddler, and it helped form who I am today.  My brother originally had it as his bed night story, and then he eventually passed it on to me.  At first he showed me the book, and explained to me what it was all about.  Later we started to act it out.  I would always be upset because my brother would make me Tigger or Piglet since I am younger.  Regardless, it was always loads of fun, he would do the slow calm voice of Pooh, and I would do a squeaky or hyper voice depending on which character I was.  We later memorized the lines of the movie, and acted along to that as well as the story.  It was an obsession; we had stuffed animals, Winnie the Pooh clothes, and Robert Milne was our idol.  I would always be jealous of my brother’s awesome Winnie the Pooh sheets and Winnie the Pooh pillows.  My mom would have to pry the book away from us just to get us outside, where we continued our other Winnie the Pooh related activities.  I loved that bear!  He brought, and still brings joy to lots of children around the world.  We eventually got rid of our Winnie the Pooh toys, but my brother and I still cherish the little bear.

Magic Treehouse was a series of books that helped me learn to read.  In first grade, everybody loved Magic Treehouse books.  Many others and I wished that we were the little boy or girl who would go into their exciting treehouse and live the treacherous stories of the past.  We all wanted to explore the Pyramids, live the Revolutionary War, go to the moon, etc.  Our teacher introduced the books by reading one of them to us for English.  At first she would read it and do the voices.  Later we all had copies and we would act it out while our teacher narrated.  At recess we would act it out on the playground.  We would rush to the top of the slide and imagine being sent back in time, and then we would run away from the antagonist from the past.  By the end of year we were reading the interesting books by ourselves.  Our daily gossip was Have you read # and Do you remember when….  Most of our inside jokes would be from those books.  We would have toys, and eventually our teacher regretted telling the stories, because we would not pay attention in class.  In second grade the obsession went away, but we kept on reading the books into 3rd grade.

Those stories are the stories that affected my child life, and a little bit of who I am today.  They were the foundation of how I learned to read.  I thoroughly enjoyed the books, and they taught me to love animals and fantasy.  And I still mainly read fantasy, or books about animals, and I deeply care about animal rights.  I believe that every child should read Chicka Chicka Boom, Winnie the Pooh, and at least one of The Magic Treehouse books.

Well Developed Paragraph

Published by alekgw under Uncategorized

Josh has tourette’s syndrome and he finds it more difficult to deal with how other people treat him because of the condition than just having the disorder.  For example, Josh believes that his mom is over protective because of his tourettes.  ”So what do you think about the way dad and I have had to deal with you?  Do you think we did a good job or a bad job?,” Josh’s mom asks.  This shows that she wants to know how to improve her parenting when Josh doesn’t care and believes that he is fine with his syndrome.  In addition, Josh believes that his fellow classmates that are boys treat him differently.  ”I see that you have uncontrollable outbursts and well, sometimes they’re funny, amusing, but most of the time just a pain in the rear (censored) because we gotta put up with your cursing and yelling and running around,” One of Josh’s fellow classmates says that when he asks him what he thinks about tourette’s syndrome.  This shows that Josh’s classmates get annoyed with his syndrome but they also learn from it.  Furthermore, Josh believes that his disorder affects his romantic relationships with women.  ”Yes…” “What I’ve heard about it is that you say whatever you think” responds a student when he asks him if it affects his relationships.  This shows that other students agree with him that his disorder holds him back in relationship respect.

Five Paragraphs

Topic: Eventing

Eventing was originally a cavalry test. The riders had to master the disciplines of dressage, show jumping, and cross-country. Eventing is a fun discipline of horseback riding. Eventing is difficult, and dangerous though. Eventing is the most fun, and challenging of all disciplines of riding.

Miriam Lemnouni remembers her first eventing show quite well. She was 11, and she just got a new horse. Her dad trailered their horse, and they reached the show grounds. Miriam tacked up her horse, and then mounted him. She warmed-up and then she rode perfectly. In the end she got all firsts and grand champion. Eventing is a fun discipline of horseback riding. Eventing is difficult, and dangerous though. Eventing is the most fun, and challenging of all disciplines of riding.

Some people claim horseback riding to be easy, but in the past few years there has been numerous fatalities in the field of eventing. The jumps do not fall down so if the horse hits it, it could flip over onto their rider. But this usually happens when the rider is doing a level that they are not ready for yet. Eventing is a fun discipline of horseback riding. Eventing is difficult, and dangerous though. Eventing is the most fun, and challenging of all disciplines of riding.

On May 27, 1995, Christopher Reeve was paralyzed do to an eventing accident during cross-country. But before the accident he loved the sport, and enjoyed working with his horse. Eventing is a fun discipline of horseback riding. Eventing is difficult, and dangerous though. Eventing is the most fun, and challenging of all disciplines of riding.

Eventing is a discipline of riding composed of dressage, show jumping, and cross-county. Many riders, like myself, enjoy eventing. Eventing is a fun discipline of horseback riding. Eventing is difficult, and dangerous though. Eventing is the most fun, and challenging of all disciplines of riding.

Anne Frank

Published by alekgw under Uncategorized

The Diary of Anne Frank has affected many lives including myself.  It reminds me to keep up hope, and even though there might be troubles always try to reach the light at the end of the tunnel.    When I first read The Diary of Anne Frank I was upset that she died, but when I think about it, if she hadn’t of died people would of not learn the lessons of her life.  Anne Frank has made me realize that even though some people are immature, they can have an intellectual deeper side to them.  And that people are generally good at heart.  The Diary of Anne Frank has also made me think of all of girls diaries around the world that may be very good literature and teach good lessons, but they aren’t realized as important.

What Interests Me

Published by alekgw under Uncategorized

Animals interest me.

Animals interest me because they are all good, and don’t really act mean to people in less there is a cause. Animals always care about what you say. Animals always can lend a helping hand, and animals area always good friends. But regardless of this people still are cruel to animals. Many people quote they love animals but they do nothing to stop cruelty against animals. For example in the past year there have been seal hunting, polar bear poaching, horse abuse, and more. But most people aren’t even aware. To get more information about stopping animal cruelty go to the Humane Society’s website. So please at least try to help the animals that interest me and many others as well.

Save the Seals!!!

Published by alekgw under Uncategorized

Every year the Canadian government allows fisherman to club over 350,000 baby seals to death a year for their fur. From 2004-2006 nearly one million baby seals were killed. This year the seal hunt will start on March 28 at 6:00 P.M.

Why is this a problem?

The seals are babies, so they can’t reproduce: the clubbing greatly diminishes the seal population. Also the seals are used solely for the fur the carcuses of seals are left on the ice where the seals are clubbed. The seals are killed inhumanely, they are clubbed to death so their death is very painful. Then the seals are skinned, studies showed that about 40% of the seals were still conscience when they were killed. Would you liked to be skinned alive?

What is Canada doing to help stop the hunt?

Nothing. In fact, despite the HSUS protests, the Canadian government donates millions of dollars in subsides to help production of seal made goods. Also the Canadian government have tried to make excuses by claiming that the seals are overpopulated when they have yet reached their previous population during the 1950’s/1960’s.

What can you do to help?

There are many ways you can help stop the hunt. One way is to stop buying Canadian seafood or eating at restaraunts that sell Canadian seafood (Red Lobster especially!!!). If enough Canadian seafood is not being bought Canada’s economy will drop and the Canadian government will outlaw seal clubbing. Another way is to stop supporting models that where seal hunting aparrel (Gucci). You can send letters to Canadian government officials urging them to stop. You can also get involve with the Humane Society’s website to stop the hunt.

I hope my Blog post has helped save many seals!!! :-)

My Pick-Me-Ups! :-)

Published by alekgw under Uncategorized

I’ve had lots of bad days and I continue to have a lot, but there is a lot of stuff that cheers me up. One of my favorite things after school is soccer, I play goalie of course (that’s the only thing I can play). When I’m on the soccer field school anxiety leaves me and happiness fills my head.

Another great pick-me-up for me is watching clips on You-Tube at EDP.  Watching videos clears all the “school material” out of my head and the fun of afternoon inside of me.

One of the best things in the world I think is Guitar Hero III. Playing on expert is really fun especially when I beat my brother (even though always makes and excuse.) It’s just so much fun, and it’s more fun than Halo 3.
